Winter White

(A/N: I’m proud of this one! It tells a story if you ‘listen’ close enough)

Run and hide, crash and burn

Hearts ripped out, shattered like seaglass on the floor

Your eyes tell of what you’ve seen, these new words turn old

Where can we be safe from ourselves?

I can only guess what you’re saying, reading lips across a foggy window

Snow falls, white crystals chill the warmest of souls

The frozen sun in the distance peeks out from the horizon

Where can we go?

Sparkles like sunlight glow and glitter

Falling upon the earth with a shiver

Our burning homes so far away

From where we take refuge in this broken land

Tears like fire, tears like ice

Warm me up then chill me to my bones

No such thing as lonely as long as the sun hides

All that I have left I am afraid to let it rise out of me,

Like a ghost I never knew was there

Beautiful in its transparency, lacking in most eyes

Tell me it’s going to be okay, my heart will accept the lies

The air is thick, a storm is waiting somewhere else

Where tears like rain hammer the dust and no one will care

Leave me when I’m weakest, I’ll live in this shelter

You built for me, knowing I can’t hide forever

Winter white
