Chapter Four: Memories

Minor Demon

(Two years ago)

“Your daughter Emily is exceptionally bright. I think high school isn’t challenging enough for your daughter.” The counselor said as Emily parents as she just sat outside listening to the conversation. It seemed her parents were excited about the news more than see was and yet there was a part of her that really didn’t like change. Though it was too much effort to fight it or pretend she didn’t know the answers to questions that were hard for everyone else.

Emily’s attention soon became divided as a conversation of two girls passing came to her ears, “Did you hear about Emily.” One of the girls said to the other.

“No what?” The other said excitedly for the latest dirt on their fellow classmate.

“I hear she’s a genius. I personally don’t want to be her friend. I hate those snobby types!” She said pissed at the idea of having to talk to Emily.

“Yeah but we could pretend to be her friend and get good grades by letting her do the work for us.” Laughed the other girl with boundless optimistic.

“No you wouldn’t be able to she’s to smart. Honestly do you think she’d fall for such a thing?” The other girl correct as they continued to walk. Emily felt sick as she watched them pass not noticing her presences. She hid her tears as her fingers curled into her palm while her hand was balled into a fist. Her parents came out of the office overjoyed not once had they noticed her pain or tears.

(Present day)

Emily pushed away from the hot wet wall of the shower as she gasped trying to erase the pain that the memories had brought. What did I do wrong! Was it that moment? When did everything in my life go wrong? The stream of thoughts kept coming as she started to feel panicked as a knock at the bathroom door startled her.

“Who’s there?” Emily asked as she ran her hand through her soaked hair.

“I thought I would come back from class to make sure you’d go to your second class. Hey.. By chance did Aeron stop by and bother you?” She asked.

“I don’t remember.” Emily barked as she stared at the bloody cloths. I must be losing my mind.

“I know you’re grumpy but I don’t appreciate you pulling your disappearing act. I know what happened last night, so don’t say I must have been dreaming.” Violet said coldly through the dark. “We’ve been friends for a while and I don’t care if they say your little ass in a genius that won’t stop me from handing you your ass.” With that Violet went to the kitchen noticing the note and food left on the table.

Not bothering to read or open the note she tossed it in the garbage along with the food. That T.A. was just unstoppable, locked doors don’t even stop him. Something about him just left a bad taste in her mouth. At a time she’d liked him but then one day she didn’t and instead she was filled with hate towards him. She felt as if she was supposed to remember some deep dark thing about him that couldn’t recall.

Emily wandered out of the bathroom straight across the hall into her bedroom slamming the door behind her. Violet let out a sigh as she waited for Emily. She knew Emily too well to let her stay here alone. “You better not be sleeping,” barked Violet as she crossed her arms waiting for Emily’s timely comeback.

“How the hell do you know? I am a genius and there is no such thing as a psychic.” Emily complained from her room as a crashing sound came with in the room.

“What did you break?” Violet asked as she rose an eyebrow curiously.

“How the hell did you know I broke something?! It was just a clunk sound.” Emily whimpered. She was honestly happy that Violet was here. Violet was like Emily’s big sister. But at the moment it was final’s week and there wasn’t a lot of time between them to talk because Violet is always studying. Emily’s leg suddenly went out as her right hand grasped the towel closed as she saw blood. Unable to open her mouth to let out a scream she saw herself drowning in blood.

“Emily!” Violet said panicked as her fist beat on the door that was supposable broken. But Violet voice was so far away and Emily could barely hear it as she drowned into a red world.

Something much worse snaked into her head a sick painful memory that should have been left to die.

“Are you sure this is okay?” The girl laughed.

“Of course we’re only sending her to the bowels of hell,” laughed the boy as he raised the black and white book above his head as he began to recite the words that were on the page.

The pain was sharp and hot shot through her body as she let out a scream her body arched. Sight turned into sound while sound became sight. Then everything slid into a world of red blood dripping down. Emily was falling down into the depth of the falling blood. Everything she saw was burned into the back of her brains as she saw beast and humans creatures.

“Ahh!” She screamed as one of the human like creatures fell towards her from above. When the creature collided with her it was like her soul was being slammed inside her vessel till she was crammed into her body.

“What the hell!” Screamed Violet from what she could hear as Violet picked Emily up. She heard Violet panicked call to the police on her cell phone Violets voice trembled.

Aeron froze as he heard the ambulance coming through the gate. He ran toward the dorms as something in his conscience said it was Emily they where there for.

The ambulance workers held people at bay as the crowd started to gather then they took a stretcher into the dorms. He couldn’t get passed the humans with out some noticing so all he was left to do was watch and hope he was wrong. The stretch came out Emily was attached to it.

“Ahh ahh ahhh! If read the omen hanging on the city gates.” Emily sang as she arched against the belt trying to break free she looked at the crowd. Aeron swore he could see her eyes turn purple. “I’ll have my way! Let me from this place you wishy washy creature!” Emily screamed as she shook her head back and forth in a violent motion letting out a terrible scream.

The wickedness of Aeron nature was drawn to her as he could feel himself grin. He fought the urge to rejoice at Emily’s chaos.

“I always thought Emily was strange. Now this proves it I think she has a split personality disorder. I hope they submit her and get her help.” One of the girls said to her boyfriend that was holding her hand supportively as the ambulance people started to load Emily into the ambulance.

“She does need to be submitted! ”Cried Violet as she ran towards the Ambulance pushing people out of her way determined to see Emily safely to the hospital. Violet would be damned if she let them take her to the crazy house without a fight. She was sure Emily was having a nervous break down. One of the men from the ambulance finally shoved Violet away from the door and climbed in driving off.

“Yeah I am sure they’ll be able to silence the voices.” The boyfriend reassured his girlfriend.

Apart of Aeron was outraged they’d do such a thing even though common sense would say it would be so she wouldn’t hurt her self.
