Darkness. The absence of light and color. A place that breeds the doubt in men’s hearts and the creatures worthy of even a serial killer’s nightmares. A prison devoid of the warmth and love required for a feeling being to survive and flourish.

I have seen the many horrors of this bleak dungeon and have been through a fair few of their tortures. The lash has tasted the skin of my back too many times for me to count, and the blades of my enemies have drunk enough of my blood to satisfy a thousand starving demons. The darkness is Hell.

But it is not the darkness which has lead me to this life. It is not the darkness I despise. I adore the chilling embrace that accompanies the rising dark of night, and though the darkness has brought me much agony that pain is nothing compared to the feeling of being forsaken by the light.

To be thrown to the wolves by those who live under the sun, those who were suppose to love and care for me, was a far worse punishment for existing than the physical torments I have endured. I would gladly have every inch of my flesh severed from my bones before I would hear cries of ‘Demon!’ from my own mother’s lips again.

Yes. I embrace the darkness in my heart because the light has burned me too many times. The taste of fear rolling off those who have the misfortune to stumble into this land is simply delicious, and I drink it up like a fine red wine. Darkness is my life, and I love it with a passion.

So... Has the shadow of fear veiled yourface yet? Or are the shudders racking your body in pure anticipation of my story? If so, I urge you to read on to your heart's content, but if not, I suggest you watch your back. You never know what lurks in the...

DARKNESS.
