Corner of the world

Water drowning out all other noise,
Coolness splashing on skin,
Like silk draped across
A sodden form.

Blinded, deafened, oblivious.
Enclosed in a bubble,
Silence everywhere.
Time standstill.
Alone.

Outside this tiny corner,
Time ticks on.

No one stops
No one wonders why.
She wears a mask.
