Prologue
There is only one thing we can take for granted in the world we live in. This one great thing is possibly the most powerful thing ever; it binds us together, it makes things happen. This is that at one point or another, our lungs will stop pumping oxygen and blood, our hearts will stop beating, and our brain will shut down. Simply, we will die.
We are not invincible; we are just humans. We can’t play around with death. The Grim Reaper isn’t the sort who likes to play hide-and-go-seek, if you know what I mean. We’re so afraid of death, afraid of dying. But I think we’re more afraid of missing out. Perhaps we’re afraid of what happens next, or if anything will happen at all after you die. Or perhaps we’re afraid of not finishing what we set out to do. But not death. Not really anyway.
We want more time. We’re in the Botox era, so everyone is battling for more, anyway. Time really is quite precious. We never know how much we have and part of the time we don’t know what to do with it, but we know we need to make the most of it. We want to live- not just be alive.
Some choose to ignore this completely. With some, it’s in the back of their mind.Sometimes, it sneaks up andsmacks some people in the face. But the ones who really know it are living it. The question is, who do you want to be?
