Taboo
Oh I'm sorry, is there an unspoken
set of rules I've broken?
Does my going in the out door
Rock your world, tilt the floor?
Stand up, stand over
Stand down, stand out.
Because you're a four leaf clover
amongst weeds, and you need to be seen
Remove yourself from this societal machine
Because the time is now
and I don't know how
You can keep going to the flowing
of a culture that's slowing
you down, putting you in past tense
Jump the fence of built up
rules and repentance
lest you be swallowed by etiquette
that eats you alive.
Thrive on the sweet fruit
of truth and reality that
most rules were made to be broken
Let them judge, a token
to how much you stand out
that they take the time to think
about the way you think,
so what do you think about that?
That just the ledge, the edge of Occam's razor,
so cut through the haze--
And live.
