Nothingness

Sometimes I just want to bang my head against the wall

Give in to unconsciousness

And end it all

Anything would be better then right now

The yelling and screaming

The hateful words that tear at my soul

I know things will eventually calm down

But right now

When the war is at its worst

I don't pray for an end that won't come

I don't pray for peace that will never be

I pray for a momentary release

Just for one second of nothingness

Just so I can get my bearings straight
