A/N: This is the end, everyone! Wooo It took me a long time, I'm so sorry. There's been a lot going on and a lot of distractions and then my computer crashed so I thought I'd lost the entire story which would have sucked but yay! I didn't. Enjoy the last installment. I know I enjoyed writing it.

Leasing a Conversation

I didn’t bother talking to a single person as I half rushed through the hospital halls, stealing a look at the list of in mates and their conditions. She was in room 665, a word beside it that meant to me, “unstable but alive”. I took the one number below demon sign as a message that said she might not be so lucky next time.

No one bothered to talk to me, either. They were all too busy with their own worries.

And I was going crazy in my own mind…

-----

“We aren’t telling you anything.” Two identical boys said in unison, their eyes glaring at me. The one who’d identified himself as Ethaniel was standing, his hands balled into tight, white knuckled fists at his sides.

“Please, what happened to her?” I half pleaded almost demanded. They had no right to keep information from me. And I had a loaded gun in my glove box waiting to take the life of someone that almost took the life of someone that I really, really cared about.

“Who are you to come in here demanding to see our sister?” Ethaniel barked.

“Wait…” Ethan murmured. “… You wouldn’t happen to be Markus Mathews, would you..?”

“… How do you..?”

Ethaniel looked me over in a new light and frowned. “You’re that science teacher. The one that held her hostage for a week.”

“I didn’t keep her hostage!” I snapped.

“That’s what Aden said.” Ethan snarled. The older twin shot him a steady glare, uncurling his hands and slowly putting them in his pockets.

“… Please… Tell me…”

“She’s had a seizure.” Ethan said, standing from his chair at the window and walking over to Laura. “I don’t know what’s going on but…”

“Ethan, Jasper won’t like this..”

“No. No, Markus deserves to know. He’s come this far. And it’s not like anything worse can happen to us…”

“Jasper said he didn’t exist anymore.. That he was now a man called Aden… What did he mean by that?”

The twins looked at each other for a long, silent moment. A slow winter breeze drifted in from the cracked window, making the soft cream colored curtains sway.

“… It started a long time ago…” Ethan started.

“Jasper began acting strangely, only a little bit at first. He would leave the house in the morning sour and angry, lashing out at anyone that came near.” Ethaniel added.

“And he would come home a completely different person. We all thought it was just having a bad morning… but then he started having huge personality changes. From the Jasper we knew to..”

“To Aden.” Ethaniel snarled. “For the past four or five years at least Aden has been controlling our brother. Only once in a while when Aden lets his guard down does Jasper’s voice come out.”

“We thought Aden wouldn’t be like he is now… he’s a monster… He… does things to Laura… And hurts her when his needs aren’t met…”

“He’s an ass hole.” The older twin hissed through gritted teeth. “Jasper would have never treated our sister like this, nor would he have killed our father and other brothers. The car crash they were in couldn’t have been an accident.”

“Wait.. Your father’s dead? When did that happen?” I blinked and put a hand on the hospital bed for support. This was so much to take in all at once.

“ Yes. Our father is dead, along with Ryan and Johnathan. They were all in the same car when it happened. One of their tires shred or something and they swerved off the road… off the side of cliff.”

“When did this happen..?”

“Only a few months ago. Just after he sent her to your school.” Ethan reached over and stroked away some hair from Laura’s face.

“… So Jasper…?”

“Jasper is possessed. Demonic. If you want to put it into an understandable term…” Ethaniel paused and looked over at his brother.

“He’s schizophrenic.” They said in unison again.

“Does she know anything about it…?”

“No.” Ethan mumbled. “Though I think she should… Then she would know that the man who’s doing these things to her isn’t her brother...”

“Ethaniel…” I said quietly. “Come with me. Ethan can stay here and watch Laura… We can put an end to Aden… Put an end to all of this…”

“He’ll kill you. And then no one else can save her. Aden won’t let her out of his sight unless I or Ethan is with her.”

“Someone has to do something!” I swiped my hand through the air angrily. “And if her own brothers won’t help her…” Half of my face twitched with the pent up anger and rage and hatred I was saving for Aden. “I’ll do it myself.”

At that moment Laur awoke, mumbling a bit and looking over at her brothers, then at me. Her eyes were a piercing grey. “… What are you guys fighting about?” She said slowly, quietly.

“Nothing. Go back to bed, little sister.” Ethan reached over and ran his hand through her hair gently, smiling sadly. “Just go back to sleep, and when you wake up everything will be alright.”

“Why is Mr. Markus here…?”

“He just came to visit you. He was worried.”

“How… How did he…?” I stepped forward and smiled warmly, to calm her.

“Laur. Go to sleep, and I’ll explain everything when you awake next.”

At my promise she nodded once, not taking her eyes from me, before laying her head back down on the hospital pillow and falling asleep.

“Lets go, Ethaniel. I can’t do this on my own.” I turned to the older twin, determination in my voice. He looked over at Ethan, who looked back at him and smiled. He nodded.

“Alright. Lets go.”

The End of the Beginning

“Back so soon?” Aden sneered, greeting the two men at the door. “I would have expected you to run with your tail between your legs.”

“I’m here to release her from your clutches.” Mark scowled, his gun hidden in the deep pocket of his jeans. “I’m here to put an end to you.”

“And you’ve brought my little brother?” He continued, as if not hearing a word Markus had said. “Tell me, Ethaniel, why are you defying me?”

“Because everything you’ve done or ever will do to my sister is wrong. And we’re here to put a stop to it.”

Aden turned, heading up the white stairs of the white room. “Then come get me.” The lights went out at that moment and two gunshots rang out. When the emergency lights came on Ethaniel was on the floor, bleeding on the carpet and clenching his teeth in pain. He swore, holding his side and staring down at his bleeding knee.

“Ethaniel!”

“I’m fine..!” He sputtered. “Go kill him…!”

“Bastard!!” Mark ran forward, heading toward the back of the large room in search of Laur’s insane brother.

The white room was bigger than he first had thought, going back for a long while before it came to a completely glass wall, over looking a man-made lake.

“Show yourself you coward!” Mark roared. “Come out so I can kill you!”

“I’m right here,” Aden hissed from just behind him before another shot rang. Mark let out a roar of pain as the bullet went clean through the palm of his right hand, hitting the glass and making it shatter in front of him. Another shot and a bullet lodged into his right calf, making him drop to one knee on the floor. He cradled his hand in his other arm, doing his best to not cry out.

Aden laughed, loud and menacing as he walked over and stood in front of Markus. “How sad,” He sneered, leaning down and pulling the gun out of his pocket, opening it up and looking at the bullets. “You didn’t even get a shot off before you died.” He clicked it closed and tossing it off to the side on the floor.

“I’m not dead.. Yet…,” Mark half groaned, looking up at him with anger filled eyes. Blood stained the white carpet under him, making a strange contrast in the bright white room.

“But you will be soon.” Aden smiled and leaned down, balancing on the heels of his feet at eye level with Mark. “Didn’t you say you came to save the girl? Make all her problems go away so she could be normal again? How pathetic. You deserve to die for breaking such an important promise.” After a few moments Aden cocked his head slowly. “So tell me. Would you rather bleed to death or do you want me to shoot you?”

“I hope I have AIDS so you die slowly and painfully after me,” Mark spat, glaring at him in a deathly way. Aden laughed and stood, examining his shiny silver gun.

“You should hope not. I might give it to your precious student.” He cocked the gun and pointed it down at Mark’s head. “I’ll see you in hell when it’s my time.” He smirked.

“Your time is sooner than you think.” Laur stood just off to the side of them, Mark’s gun in her hands. She aimed straight at her brother, who had just enough time to look over at her before a bullet drilled into the side of his chest, making him fall back. But his finger was already pulling the trigger, and as he hit the ground it pulled completely and shot Mark in the side of the head.

“Mark!!” Laur dropped the gun and ran forward, kneeling beside him and trying to keep the blood from coming out of his head. He said nothing, just looking up at her with a small smile and soft eyes.

“… Hey… Laura…?” He mumbled.

Laur had scooped him up into her arms, cradling him as best she could. “Yes…?”

“… I know… It doesn’t mean… anything now… but… I……” He smiled softly, a few tears rolling down his face, reaching up with his good hand and stroking her face, leaving a small streak of blood.

“Mark… P-please.. Please don’t leave me…!” Laur began to cry, her own tears dropping in and mixing with the blood all over his shirt.

“Mmmmm… You’re so… Beautiful…..” Those were his last words before everything went black.

Ending Note: YES. THERE IS GOING TO BE A SECOND. I don't know when I'm going to get around writing it though. I'm sorry everyone. Just know everything turns out okay in the end, until the next problem turns up at least.

Thank you all for reading! I'm so proud of this story. It's actually the first one I've ever finished completely. Sorry if it's a little rushed. I love you all! Thank you thank you thank you for all the support and suggestions and pointing out mistakes I've made! I had a lot of fun writing this!

Just remember, NONE OF THESE PEOPLE ARE REAL AND NOTHING LIKE THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED. Not that I know of, anyway. This story was just an expiriment. And everything here has been plotted entirely by me. I have a pretty messed up head, don't I? xDD

iluall! Thank for reading! Chao for now
