It was never about us

It was always about what she remembered and missed

How I could never live up to that trust

Swing and she misses

Again

She steps off her plane

She steps into a whole new place

Full of

Promises I never made

Yet had to keep anyway

And I can't remember

The way it feels

To be held by her

It all seems so unreal

Like she was never here

To begin with...

Where do I start?

The shadow of her face

The memories of the place

Where it all fell apart

I look around and all that I see

Simply reminds me of her and me

Even the air that I breathe

I take a deep breath

And once again

Her hair smells like sex and cigarettes

And I remember the first time we met

But I can't remember

The way it feels

To be held by her

It all seems so unreal

Like she was never... here...

To begin with...

There's nothing left to do

But tell me it wasn't real, you-

Tell me I'm going crazy, I-

Tell me it was a mistake and I-

Tell me me it was just a joke, it-

"I would have sent you my heart but I gave it to someone

And they broke it."

I can't

I can't remember

The way it feels

To be held by her

It all seems so unreal

Like she was never... here...

To begin with...

Like she was never here at all...

Now... who's going to catch me... when I fall?
