I never cease to be amazed at the promises you can't keep.

I never cease to be humilated by the promises you have no intentions of keeping.

I never cease to be destroyed by the promises you don't even attempt to keep.

And yet, I never cease to continue believing in your empty words day after day,

And holding on to a little shining ray of useless hope that

Will only shoot me down like a dove in the

Morning.

As I wonder how long it will take before you see

That trying isn't that hard, and the ending results

Are all that it's cracked up to be,

When you see the blinding smile of endless love

On the face of the one you love,

And you can hold satisfaction in your hands

Because at least we both know that you tried,

Successful or not, it was better than not grabbing

The outstretched hand as it fell off the cliff

And having to relive that nightmare for the rest of enternity.

Maybe that's why I continue to love you without bounds

And it only grows with each day, instead of shrinking as it does with so many

Because I never want to give up on you

Like you give up on yourself

And me.
