Redheaded Girl

I hate to tell you this/ But on a sunny Sunday I wasn't at Church/ I was sealing the deal with a redheaded girl behind the elm trees/ From the old high school we'd met and through the gardens of Eden we'd wept/ Over your dead body we swore to ourselves: We'd never die, we'd never die/ Growing old wasn't on our list/ We wanted to stay in the old Peter Pan way forever and ever again/ I knew you'd be sad to hear of this escapade on such a damn holy day/ But I thought you should know since this redheaded girl was my downfall/ She took my soul and I'm needing it back so I can visit you in opposite down below/ It was a foolish thing/ To make an everlasting pact but your death in me stirred a feeling of precious time being lost/ And now that I'm young and have been so far some time, I'm read to come visit you/ Opposite down below.
