Silenced Scream

My scream is silenced.

I want to yell,

I want to run.

I want to get away.

But where does one go,

When trying to escape,

From one's self?

My scream is silenced.

I have run out of breath.

My yelling is useless.

There is no one left.

My running suddenly stops.

I have nowhere to run to.

My scream is silenced,

but not by someone else.

My blood is gushing,

My head is rushing,

And yet, I remain standing,

With a silenced scream.
