As I write these words,
I know they will expose
I will be naked before you
With nowhere to run to hide
I know these words will become
A bird flying free in the sky
And it will show the world
The things I dare not speak
The thoughts hidden deep within me
Which must be granted emancipation
For within me they become a toxin
These words which I write
Will leave me laying naked before you
Yet they free a feeling within me
I know not another way,
To express these thoughts
Which long to be freed
In order to keep me here
In order to set me free
I will be that bird flying free
