The Heat Wave
18 July, 2006

You thought it was too cold:
Was 80 degrees not enough?
It obviously wasn't.
Too cool for the pool, huh?
The ocean? The beach?
Ice cream eaten on the front porch?
Never satisfied with what you have, are you?
Of course not.
No, you wanted more.
You wanted summer!
Well, here it is!
Over one hundred degrees of
Crushing heat, smog, and humidity
To roast your insides out
Until you're naught
But a sizzling mass of exhausted carcass
Frying on the sidewalk.
Enjoy your July now,
Kids.
I know I will.
Love,
the Sun.
