I wrote this on a day I was particularly frustrated with being judged by the actions of my peers, when I have nothing in common with them.

The Not So Typical Teen

She's fifteen going on 35

She's never really acted her age.

She grew up old and stayed that way.

She takes care of her loved ones with pride.

She always does her work each day.

She bears with her parents and helps them get by.

Even though some days she'd rather just cry.

She always puts up with her friends' attitude.

She's always there for them,

even though she usually isn't showed any gratitude.

She always bears on through thick and through thin.

She can never quit and she never will.

She will always stay strong by the power of will.

So she's not just the typical teen that you always see.

She's different, she's strong, she's me.
