The Elf's Reprieve

The bearer of destruction and insanity

Brought forth great calamity

No matter how the elves fought back

They always failed in their attack.

They had sent their best with no avail

And now their existence seemed all too frail

The elves had been all but beaten

But there was one last chance,

A man they all called a cretin.

To Ryumaru's castle the most noble made travel

And they went with speed for there was no time to dabble

Their deal was simple

If the mad man was made cripple

Then Ryumaru was free to leave his prison temple.

He agreed and with great speed

Mounted a fiery steed.

He searched out his prey

And with ferocity did pay

The blood of the insane as his way.

The nobles all cheered him

And some even revered him

But all stood still

As the realization their backs did chill

When they saw in his eyes a wicked thrill.

He looked at them a moment

Then glanced at his prize

And all followed his eyes.

He looked down to his blades

That from the corpse he did raid

Then looked back up to his praise.

He said with content:

"I have my prize!"

"Now at my hands which of you will be the first to die!"

He nocked his blade and within a minute

He had slaughtered the great Elven Senate

His vengeance was made

But was his mind decayed?

Only time will tell

Or if you dare seek them the gates of hell.

For with time he slew

All of whom he knew

Were of the plot

That once against him grew.

Once this task was finished

His lust he sought to quench

But he was to discover

That he could never recover

The loss of his fiery dragon lover!
