Today was a big day.

The day things will change for the good.

A sad day maybe, but one that had to come sooner or later.

Today was the day,

I bought a new toothbrush.

Yes time to drop the good’ol scrubber in the bin.

Ah the memories.

We’ve known each other so long I can’t remember when we first met.

Helped pull me through the time of braces,

We tried each new toothpaste, mint, lemon, and swirl.

And when given an electric tooth brush, I used it for a while.

But as always came running back to you,

Whether the batteries ran out of the other or not.

You were always there for me.

But I had been thinking about a new toothbrush for a week now.

Saw an ad on TV saying you should use a toothbrush no longer than three month.

Hmm. We have been friends for too long.

I shall miss your sleek blue body.

And crisp white bristles, though encased with hard toothpaste at the bristle roots.

The time has come.
