Authors Note and Partial Chapter:
Chapter Two: The Letter
I stared at the envelope that I had in my palm, my entire hand trembling. The name at the top left hand corner was a name I had not heard in a very long time. Jacob must have thought I had lost my mind since I was standing in front of him in a blank.
“Meg?” he replied, “What’s wrong? Your face has gone pale,” he added in a worried tone.
I blinked and then carefully tore open the envelope. Inside was a single piece of paper folded up. As I pulled it out I realized that it was on very beautiful stationary that was pink in color and covered with roses. Right away I recognized the handwriting. The same handwriting I had seen back then. The careful hand, the penmanship, it was just as I remembered.
“Meg?” Jacob said in a more urgent tone, “Why aren’t you saying anything? Who is it from?”
But I didn’t answer him. Instead I began to read the contents of the letter quietly to myself, focusing on each word individually as if it were the most important letter I had ever read.
Note:
Okay guys. I know I have been really bad about my writing but I have hit a major writer’s block with all my stories so I am going to take a break for a little while. I probably will come back sometime next month and the months after. So if you’re reading this I am sorry, but all my stories on this site are going to be on hiatus for a time. See you all later and God Bless!!!
