Yeah well we were all piled up on the couch. Kaira was sitting on my lap while Tori and Kristin crunched together and nibbled at the popcorn bowl. We have all been best friends since we were babies. Me, Tori, and Kristin are even sisters. Kaira is our totally out there, crazy cousin. We love her so much. She’s like our other sister.

Its around eleven on a Friday night and we always get together for movie night. This time we’re watching ‘Nightmare On Elm Street.’ This movie always freaks me out.

Kaira says, “guys can we cut this off. Freddy gives me the creeps.”

I nod in agreement, “yea totally I’m gonna have some messed up dreams tonight.”

Tori gets up to cut off the VCR just as the power goes out. Theres a loud scream and I feel a person cling to me. I burst out in laughter and push Kaira off me.

“Suck it up girl!”

I feel my way to the wall and search for the light switch. I flip it on and off sighing heavily and head to the kitchen to search for the flashlight I store under the sink.

“Brittany come back! Don’t leave us here alone.” Squeals Karia.

I hear Kristin knock Kaira off the couch and tell her to shut up. I giggle to myself and then curse when I run into one of the chairs. I grope around in the cabinets until finally I clasp the flashlight in my hand.

“Found it!” I called out.

I flip on the little light and return to the living room where the three girls are clustered together on the floor. I shrug my shoulders, “I guess a fuse must have blown. I’ll go down to the basement and check.” Karia jumps to her feet and grabs my shoulder.

“Don’t go down there by yourself! I’ll go with you.”

I shrug my shoulders again as we make our way to the stairs that lead down into the basement. We leave Kristin and Tori together in the living room with a candle I had lit before the lights went off.

Kaira shivers, “I can’t believe we gotta do this after we were watching that scary movie.”

I shudder at the thought and rush to the wall and open up the fuse box. I stand pondering and carefully examining each fuse as Kaira stands by nervously humming some little tune only known as ‘Kissy Kissy.’

“Kaira do you mind? That’s kind of annoying.” Kaira turns, “sorry I just don’t like being down here.”

Suddenly theres a banging from up stairs and I hear two loud yelps. Me and Kaira rush upstairs and catch the form of a man standing at the front door. I swallow heavily as if though the spit were afraid to go down. I walk cautiously to the door and peek out the window only to shrug in relief. “You guys its just Steven.”

Steven is my boyfriend. We’ve been together several years now. I open the door and wrap him in my warm embrace, “Steve what are you doing here?”

He grins slightly, “Well when the power went off I knew you guys were over here alone and I just thought I should come and check on you.”

Kaira slides up next to me, “I’m glad you did.” Steven’s grin grows wider as he slips into the house and into the recliner adjacent to the couch.

I close the door and go to stand by him. “So whats up with your sisters sitting on the floor like that?” He acknowledges Kristin and Tori still huddled together. I giggle quickly and explain how they didn’t want to be left alone while me and Kaira checked the fuses.

With a cocky attitude, “You know how to check the fuses?”

I punch him lightly in the arm and then wrap myself around him. Kristin finally rises from the floor and asks, “So you guys wanna play monopoly or something until the power comes back on?” We all agreed to it and sent Tori to retrieve the game from the closet down the hall while Kaira went to light more candles in the kitchen and in the living room.

Suddenly Kaira comes bouncing into the room singing, “kissy kissy makes me happy honey honey sweet as candy…” I laugh at her wildly and throw a pillow. It nails her in the head and she falls to the ground. We burst into laughter as she jumped up and began to chase me around the room.

“I’ll kill you Brittany!” she screams. I laugh insanely and toss another pillow in her direction only this time she dodged it. I finally tired out and she wrestled me to the ground. We wriggled around for a good while before finally I gave in and she bounced around proclaiming victory. “I WIN!! I WIN!!”

A/N this is all I’m gonna write for now. I’m not quite sure what I’m gonna do with this story so if you have any ideas let me know. Maybe somebody could fall in love or something. I dunno. LOL. Let me know what you think. L8ter.
