My Worst Mistake

It's time for me to move on

Can't let these memories keep me down

'Cause these thoughts of you

Will only cause me to drown

Set aflame this picture

And anything you've given me

When I'm done there will only be ashes left

Now my soul can finally soar free

But like the phoenix that rises from the dead

Will you come back to haunt my troubled mind?

The saddest part is you're still blissfully unaware

Of my love for you and how it made me blind

The last day I saw you I walked away

With my head held down and my heart shattered

Like glass I wasn't able to find all the pieces

But at this point I don't think it ever mattered

I thank you for helping me to finally see

How I never needed anybody to stay strong

As selfish as it sounds I only need myself

Everything I felt for you was so twisted and wrong

I was able to destory all the memories

Of unrequited love and unvaried heartbreak

All the result of an unmindful but tender man

Who at this point in time is my worst mistake
