Kiss

By Irony Illuminator

Desire swells

Passion dances

Love reigns

This never-ending drumbeat

Pounding in my soul

It drowns out all reason

And yet, in spite of everything, it makes me whole

I live to let it thrive

I wish nothing more than to surrender, to dive

To dive into the waves of longing

To be lost, drifting away with the tide

It sweeps me off my feet

And draws me far away

Disbelief blossoms within me

Is this truly here to stay?

Though I might scale the highest mountain

Though I might swim the deepest sea

I cannot escape this

Desire

Passion

Love

It pounds in my soul

I dive in its depths

It sweeps me off my feet

Hand in hand these jewels of reality walk

For though alone they are strong

Together they are stronger

As meet I him, his lips to mine

The spark becomes a roaring flame

And yet I can never be thirsty here

For love is a well that cannot be drained.

Desire swells

Passion dances

Love reigns

(A/N- Well, I like writing it, but I don't know if it's any good... I think my fiction is probably better than my poetry... -I.I.)
