Summer Snowflakes

This morning I woke up to you

Gazing down at me;

And from an open window

Or an unlocked door,

It might have seemed you loved me,

But I could tell you more.

Lies stay hidden in your eyes

Behind a shield of frost

And I never saw a shade so blue.

Arctic chills and summer snowflakes

Would be jealous if they could;

Violence reflecting from emotions so fake.

And the way you move is proof,

For every motion is a threat;

I can tell you hate me

From every breath you take

Your touch is anything but gentle

And your words are just as harsh.

But even with your cold ways

I love you and I always will,

To hear your voice like sweet surrender

In a home filled with cold declaim.
