An object of leisure

Of essence

Of death.

Device so well-known

Yet puts many to rest.

Skill and sense needed

To master this monster-

A fatal conclusion

If dangers are ignored.

Be careful, be careful

Echoes in the mind

To say it once more- louder

To yell it’s just the same

Be careful, be careful

We are our own danger

Do not become jaded,

Do not relax.

Fatal kisses are not far away.

Be careful, be careful

Now a senseless whisper

No longer noticeable

Just a mere nuisance

Press down on the pedal

Press down on your life

Suffocate it as the miles grow higher

As the speed becomes blinding

And the crash is deafening

On the pavement now-

Your life is fading.

Be careful, be careful.

You hear the words now

Just a moment to late

Useless to your ears as you feel

Your life

Draining

Away.
