I lay on the bed wondering what to do. I'd called around to all my friends and found them all busy, running errands and other assorted 'fun' things that people with jobs do. I couldn't get a job no matter how hard I tried; a fact my parents, siblings and friends all teased me for, till it became annoying to hear the same lines over and over again. Sure I did odd jobs around the neighborhood: mowing lawns, getting cats out from under bushes, and on several occasions programming the sprinklers across the street for the little old lady who hated technology, but loved her lush green lawn. They were all jobs I'd been paid for, but it wasn't the same as a real job.

Swimming came to mind right as the doorbell rang. My room wasn't far from the front door, and I heard light footsteps pattered across the floor, and a young female voice answered the door, "hello?"

A male voice replied to her, sounding uncomfortable at someone so young as my five year old sister answering the door. "Hello little girl. Is your sister Attica home?" It was comical hearing the word 'mommy' come from such a big voice.

The next moves I could see play out in my head as if I was standing with them at the door. My sister put her hands on her hips and stuck out her lower lip in a frown-pout, "I'm not little, I'm five and a half years old!" She held up two hands, one with five fingers held up, and the other hand wiggling as it tried to figure out how to show a half.

Getting out of bed I went to the door, trying to keep the smile from my face. Spring was just too cute for her own good sometimes. "May I help you?" I asked going to the front door and standing behind my sister. The man standing there was a delivery guy in a brown uniform. He handed me a pad to sign on, "I need your signature to deliver this package."

I signed it and commented, "Can't anyone sign for these?"

"Normally yes, but I has specific orders to give it to you and no one else." He replied with a shrug. "This is heavy, do you want me to put it in a certain location so you don't throw your back trying to move it later?"

Aw, the big buff guy in the brown uniform was concerned for the girl. "I can get it, I'm use to heavy lifting. Thank so much for bringing it." I waved him away, squatted and lifted with the legs. It was heavy! I tried to look unconcerned as he turned and walked away, glancing over his shoulder every now and then as I slowly turned and heaved the package into the house. Spring closed the front door behind me, and followed me to my room, attacking me with questions of who it was from, what was in the box, and most importantly, was there anything in there for her?

With a grunt I set the heavy package down and flexed my hands, noting the marks the edge of the box had made across my palms. "I have no clue what's in it or where it's from! Out of my room, go find Robbie and play with him." Robbie was her invisible friend.

"You goose, Robbie is right here wanting to know to know what's in the box too!" She shot back as if I were suppose to notice invisible things on a regular basis. "Open the box!"

I got a knife out from one of the drawers and popped the blade from the sheath. Cutting along all edges, I sliced through the tape, and set the blade aside. Opening the flaps, packaging peanuts fell to the floor. I dug through the foam nuts, searching for what was so heavy.
