I see you stand there in silence

Letting the word smash against you

Will you not fight back?

Will you not lash out?

Even anger would be better than

This frozen emptiness.

Even hate would be better than

This resigned despair.

What do you see

With your eyes so empty?

What can a mind so lost

Comprehend in a world so alive?

Where are you now

That the light can’t reach?

Where are you now

That the world cannot touch you?

If there is even blind justice at all

Are you perhaps finally at peace?

I actually wrote this when I was in a passably good mood. Weird, huh?
