Temer

Me: This is inspired by the picture on DeviantArt by the artist AlaraFirewing. The picture goes under the same name. I don’t own the picture, only the story.

The moon was full and the air was silent as death. Below was the a tiny village, its thatched roofs of straw golden yellow in the day, but now an icky yellow brown. A few points of golden yellow light hung in their windows, nobody notice the sound of wings as the great serpentine sharp flew by over head.

The dragon, Temer, lord of the valley, twisted upwards, it was habit for him to sore over his valley, the valley he swore to protect from invasion. In return for his services, the villagers allowed him to swoop down now and then and pick from their animals.

Temer snorted, the mist of his hot breath curling around his whiskers on his snout. The two golden rings in his horn gleamed the moonlight, mimicking electrum. His six fingered wings sliced the air like knives do flesh as he reached his favorite cliff. He backedwinged and landed, facing the rock face before him, and then he muttered a few words in the Ancient Dragon tongue and the rock face crumbled away. He entered his cave, and walked to his collection of books.

His blue eyes ran over the titles until he found one, a scroll written by an eastern dragon. He pulled it out, and walked back outside.

Upon the ledge he curled up, and open the scroll and began to read.

Me: Again, the picture belongs to AlaraFirewing.
