A Love like Ours

Water drips from a cursed fountain
Words splashed across the wall
Once they sparkled so pure
And yet now glow with a diminished eloquence

We are done
Our spirits gone and yet not so forgotten
Erased as though we were never truly meant to be remembered

Love like ours is and always will remain a threat
We created a weakness in the foundation of truth versus reality
For we were never shadows
By no means did we leave our lust to burn beneath the surface

Why should we hide what we feel in side
Fuck propriety

Shame mocks all lovers and time makes fools of us all

In the end no one is safe
Happiness offends all
And creates rivers colored red for jealousy and green with envy
The star colors in the rainbow of life left to rule all hearts

A/N:This has been my first poem in what seems like a lifetime. Lately I've been in a bit of a creative funk and though I'm still not over it, I will continue to write and maybe get through it. I hope you like this new piece of poetry that I've posted. If you do or don't please review and tell me what you think. I will likely return the favor.
