Rimmon, The Fallen Angel
A black car drives along a country road. A teenager girl sits in the back seat with the windows down. Her midnight black hair dances to the rhythm of the wind, fluttering on her pale moonlight skin. Those dark brown, almost burgundy eyes are locked onto the passing trees and hills of the countryside. On the window, raindrops run across, mesmerizing her. They take her hand and lead her off to another land; a land of happy thoughts and smiling faces. But then the arguing rips her away from that happy place and brings her back to the cruel and dark reality of the world. In the front seat a man and a woman exchange ragefull screams. Don't fucking talk to me like I'm a complete fucking idiot! The woman yells out. You’re a Goddamn whore, that's what you are! The man snaps. The girl sighs, puts on her earphones and blasts her MP3 player. In her ears she hears an angry voice singing.
I feel it in me
So overwhelmed
Oh, this pressured center rising
My life overturned
Unfair the despair
All these scars keep ripping open
Peel me from the skin
Tear me from the rind
Does it make you happy now?
Tear me from the bone
Tear me from myself
Are you feeling happy now…
Fuck you. I hate when you're so… fucking… retard… cant do anything right… She hears over the loud music. God dad. Please can't you stop fighting?! She says frustrated. The man in front of the steering wheel looks back at the girl furiously. He raises his hand and strikes her across the face. The girl sits in shock; tears slowly run down her face, like the raindrops on the window. Ally! Don’t you fucking raise your voice at me! He quickly looks at the road but then he turns his head back to Ally. I'm sorry She sobs. You better be fucking sorry! He raises his hand again.
Then at that moment, like a movie playing in slow motion, blinding lights approaches the car at enormous speed. The woman in the other seat manages to say something Paul! She points out at the oncoming light but the only thing he could do was hit the brakes. What happened next Ally would never forget. Shattering glass. Screeching tires. The man in the front seat flies through the window shield screaming. Blood splatters everywhere. Metal crushes and the sound is ear piercing. Ally manages to stay in her seat while the broken metal crushes the other woman. Its all over in 30 seconds, but for Ally it feels like a lifetime. It finally ends. Ally can finally breath. She feels raindrops on her face, soothing and comforting her and slowly she drifts off into a deep sleep.
When she wakes she is laying on the cold ground. A man in uniform stands beside her, his blond hair, now wet from the rain, sticks to his marble-like pale skin. Miss, are you all right? Can you move your legs? Ally tries and painlessly, she folds her legs. Am I going to die? She turns her head and looks at the blood-covered metal scrap. No. Do you remember what happened? His smooth voice made her feel warm inside. I remember my parents screaming at each other then I saw my dad fly through the window and my mom getting… oh god. They didn’t make it did they? He slowly shook his head no. I'm sorry. No matter how hard she tries, she just can't seem to care. They are gone, forever. She knows that, but still, she doesn’t feel remorse. She slowly sits up. The man tries to stop her but she continues. Momentarily she gazes into his brilliant gray eyes. She looks around and something startles her. Where's the ambulance? She thinks to herself. He sees the questions in her eyes. Who are you? She says calmly, she feels too weak to be angry. He looks around. After thirty seconds he looks back into her eyes. Rimmon He said softly. Are you an angel? Rimmon just smiled. Once His smile is intoxicating her. What do you mean? He pauses, thinking about his answer. You weren’t supposed to survive the crash. I just couldn’t let that happen to you. Her eyes widen in shock. I disobeyed His orders. She knows in her heart he is telling the truth. Even though she has just met him she feels like she's known him forever. I should leave now. He says with hurt in his smooth voice. He slowly stands up. What? Can't you stay for a little longer? She gets up quickly. I'm sorry With those words Ally leans in towards him and gives him a passionate kiss. At first he is shocked a bit. But then he starts to like her tender touch of her lips. He raises his hand and gently holds the back of her neck. As their lips part they gaze into one another's eyes. I love you. He whispers. He gives her one last kiss and in seconds he disappears into the stormy night. I love you too. She lays back on the ground and falls back to sleep under the soft rain. Soon after an ambulance arrives.
