Living Objects

There! Amongst the shadows

that stealing form so fleeting

art thou blind, that thou can'st see?

this shadow form now kneeling

wilt thou, so beguiling, dedicate thy life for naught

but the rendering of a suckless babe

shield not thine eyes

but unkeep those padded locks

understand you now

with shovel and brawn

dig the child from out of the tomb

though not thy child, child of earth still

choking dirt, and still is choking

sooth this wind with word or song

no harm come near the blessed strong

no harm befall her sacred room

where still she lay, still she lay

sleeping not, neath the bed of hay

still does lay, still does play

sleeping not, neath the bed of hay

(N/A: Inspired by some weird happenings and my own theory. It just sort of flowed out, and it is one of my favorites.)
