Not Real Anymore

Don’t you love that feeling?

When you hold your breath underwater, waiting for death

Then you break the surface of the ocean and everything is alright?

When you’re running through a meadow (even in your dreams) on a sunny day?

When you rediscover a lost toy, when you lie on a beach and close your eyes?

What happened to that feeling?

Did it disappear along with your pride, joy, and dignity?

You stare down at your black painted nails,

Your whitened face, your silver studded spike belt

What have you become, what did the years do to you?

What’s happened to you?

You weren’t always like this…

You used to be like everyone else

You used to chase butterflies and laugh at the world

Now your tears are black with eyeliner

Look back at the chain of events that made you this hybrid

You’re living a lie for the cameras

But what happens when you’re caught?

(A/N: This is really the best description of how I feel.)
