Unexpected Shadows

Attempted suicides, mystery men, an overlooked world. What could we possibly add? Oh, yeah: Shounen-ai

The water rolled off his aching body as soon as it hit, making lines that were soon replaced by others from the torrent of the skies above. The rain hadn't stopped for the past few weeks, and the town was suffering.

No one dared to brave the streets, they were out there, waiting, lurking. Always on the hunt. Always hungry. Always ready to kill. And kill they would.

The dull ache in his wrists reminded him of his attempt to escape, just a few days earlier. What was he trying to escape from? Pain, lonliness, uncertainty.... Life.

Looking down at them now he winced, the rain water was doing no help in aiding the healing process. A roar from the heavens caused him to jump, citrine coloured eyes wide. There had been growls from the skies all day, but now, as if realizing that there was still one with the daring to stay out in the streets.

He knew who that one was: Himself. But, where could he go? He had run from the only place he might have belonged, had they not turned on him the instant he told of his past. That dirty, dangerous secret that he should never trust anyone with. Not even himself.

Lightening cracked across the sky, illuminating the square for one brief moment. Allowing him, Taho, to see a shadow. A shadow that had not been there moments ago.

Looking up, he gasped. Towering over him, a person stood, their umbrella cocked to the side, letting the water wash over their shadowed features. "Come, you'll die out here," Was all that was said, and Taho found himself in the person's arms. And they were off.
