Lady Death Beckons My Love
Another tragedy seeker,
o’ dear
Her lips as soft as
pillows
Plump and full of
curves
With bruises marked all
along her brow
What happened to death
being an elegant affair?
With whips and chains
to keep the procession moving
Sparkling jewels and
coins to guard and gain a safe passage into the afterlife
Lace covers and silk
beddings
Comfort even now may be
everlasting
But alas ignorance is
bliss
And I was truly
ignorant to your suffering
Hopefully though the
pain was just a mask
One that could easily
have been shed
They say you died
suffering
But in truth you lived
it so as well
Therefore Lady Death in
part was truly your savior
And a blessing lay
deeply in disguise
A/N: This poem is defiantly more my style. I am feeling a bit more inspiration today and I really like this one. I imagine this poem taking place in Egypt from the point of view of a Pharaoh. I’m really obsessed with harems today and so that’s the whole vibe. I just started reading this story on fictionpress entitled Dearly Beloved by lili brik. It’s really good. It is just a suggestion on my part that you should check it out.
