The mermaid's come back home again

Returned from captivity in the foreign land

Regained her bearings from the torture of dry

And once again rests under a warm blue sky.

To be plucked from the land

And dipped in the sea-

A soothing sense of Levity-

Her boundless dreams and unharnessed thoughts-

Of so many childish fantasies-

Are cognizant and again engaged-

Tumbling 'round in alacrity.

To play with the beings of an endless brine,

Renunited once more with a dulcified mind-

And explore the newfound things of her home

Relaxed with no more room to roam-

For everything is here like it always was,

Hardly new and filled with dust

From the things that have gone undisturbed

With her absence and her home unstirred.

Overwhelming familiarity,

A feeling grown so foreign-

A relief and a comfort in itself,

A result in return therein.

She dances forever- endlessly

In her loving, joyous, boistrous Sea,

But with the knowledge of returning to Land-

A foreboding feeling in her shaking hands,

Yet filled with the scent of adventure and dares

Not yet found by her hopeful wares-

She goes again to the offshore world

To a place where blackened clouds unfurl-

That bring storms upon her weary head

Which means water of replenishment.
