The night of perplexity dawned upon me
all in a split second breath of unease

I can feel every heart beat, every ragged breath
but can you feel my thoughts, my risks, my guilt?

Selfishness eats me up, but still I remain
for sometimes a friend would seem to let go

Nevertheless, what is superficial? But mistaken to be the truth
for you will never know what I have felt

As I am with you
all for a split second decision of confusion

But still my guilt craves for my soul and my mind
let me succumb to the world of unmistakable remorse

Let it be..
For I am what I am…

Selfish.
but still,
maybe still…

A friend.
