A/N: Hey, yeah this is a sequel to High School Hell. I'm hoping it doesn't sound a little cheesy to have a sequel to a story that already ended pretty weird. Anyways, I'm balancing on it whether or not to have up. Well, whatever I choose I'll let you guys know. Plz Read and Review and tell what you think of it so far.
Placing the last box on the ground, she let out a heavy sigh before straightening back up. She dusted her hands together, before reaching up to push her long, curly red hair out of her face. She looked around at the place that would be her home for the next four years. It was nice, not to small, not to big. It had a kitchen, already equipped with a stove, and a refrigerator. It was large enough to fit a small table, and two chairs maybe. It had a small living room, large enough to hold a love seat, a few more chairs, a T.V., and a messy coffee table. It also had two rooms, two bathrooms, and three closets. The northern wall, in the living room, had three large windows that nearly reached from the floor to the ceiling. It gave an excellent view of the front campus ground.
Smiling slightly to herself, she turned around and walked out of her room. She walked down the hallway, down a few flights of stairs, and headed outside. A red Ford pick-up truck was parked out front in the parking lot. She watched as the owner walked around from the driver's side, and picked up something from the back. A small box that wasn't any bigger than half an arm's length, and didn't seem to weight that much.
"Need any help?" she called out, watching as the owner looked up and smiled. She walked over to the truck, leaning against one side of it, "After all, we don't want you to do any heavy-lifting. You've been doing that all day."
"Well, I think maybe one more box wouldn't hurt," he smiled at her, as he walked around the truck. "After all, my baby sister is going away to college and I won't be able to see her that much anymore."
"Ease up Jack, I'm a four-hours drive away from home," Lucy commented, taking the box from him. "You can visit me whenever you want, or vise-versa. Well, that is unless you're too busy with your girlfriend."
"I'm never to busy for my little sister," Jack said, putting his arms around her, "And, no woman is going to get in my way of coming over to visit you. I expect the same from you, right?"
"Well, I'll meet you halfway," Lucy answered, laughing slightly at the way he pretended to look offended. "I'm kidding, I'll see you whenever I can, and I'll call you every week."
"That's what I thought," said Jack, as he looked around, "Well, looks like you're all set, you sure you don't want me to help you unpack, or anything?"
"I'm fine, I'm having some people help me with that," she said, "Now, you might want to start heading back home, I don't want you driving like an idiot at night. Besides, you're suppose to be meeting Charlotte at five."
"I know, don't remind me," he said, kissing her on the forehead. "Now, call me whenever you want, I'll always answer."
"I'll be fine, I'm more worried about you," Lucy said,
"Whatever, just watch yourself, and focus on your school work," said Jack, as he walked back over to the driver's side. "And hey, if you have trouble, or if something's bothering you...,"
"I know who to call," she said, smiling as he nodded, and got back into his car. He started the engine up, and began pulling out. Balancing the box against the her right leg, she managed a small wave as he drove out. She waited till he was out of sight, before heading back inside. Taking the steps a bit more carefully, she walked down the hallway and into her room. Most of her things were packed away into cardboard boxes, and stacked on top of each other. It wasn't going to take that long to unpack, mainly because she didn't have that many things with her at the moment.
Putting the small box on top of a table, she started with the boxes on the right side of the room. Unpacking clothes, notebooks, jewelry, cds, a small stereo, a VCR, a small microwave, all things that Jack insist that she bring. Actually he just insisted that she'd bring the VCR, and microwave. She brought the stereo though.
It had two rooms, so she chose the largest one. She hadn't been given any word on a roommate, so it was a 'First come, first serve' kind of thing. They'd just have to deal with their smaller room. Moving her things into the dresser that was already placed there, she decorated the top of it with small, crystal figurines she had been collecting for awhile now. She had all sorts of things, like small animals, a dragon, a black knight, and a half-moon, half-sun figure. They weren't very big, maybe just enough to fit in the palm of your hand. She hung a few things up in the closet, before heading back into the main room.
Tackling the next set of things, she unpacked several kitchen appliances, some dishes, a few pictures, and a vase or, two. She placed a blender, and a coffee machine into the kitchen, before stocking the cabinets with several glass plates and cups. She hung a few pictures up on the wall, since the walls were already provided nails to hung things on. She placed a few pictures on a small table, that was placed against a wall.
She loaded the bathroom with some soap, and shampoo. The college had a public bathroom, well it was only showers, and changing rooms actually. But, still, it was shared by both the girls and the guys, which might take a little getting use to.
It took only maybe, an hour and a half to get all of that done. Next was putting up the groceries they had bought on the way over, and then discarding the boxes. Sighing, she walked over, and moved all the grocery bags into the kitchen and began putting things up. She loaded the refrigerator with milk, juice, all the things that needed to be kept cold. She loaded the pantry with snack foods, like chips, and some other favorites of hers'. It was enough food for her and a few friends. Actually it was a little too much for them, but that just meant she probably didn't have to go shopping anytime soon.
Getting that done, she picked up all of the boxes, and discarded them outside with the rest of everyone's junk. After that was done, she decided to clean up a little bit. Either dusting a few places, before vacuuming several areas. She scrubbed the bathroom a little bit, before straightening everything else out.
By the time that was done, she took a basic overlook of the room. It looked a lot better, more like home. Pulling her hair out of the ponytail that she had put it in before she started unpacking, she just about collapsed onto the love seat. The room was feeling hotter than it was before. But, she'd give it a minute before cooling down. She unzipped her white jacket, revealing a soft gray tank-top underneath, and threw it across one of the other chairs. She propped her tennis shoes up on the arm of the couch, tucking her arms underneath her head against the other arm. Her ripped, and faded jeans provided a little air to her legs, since she could feel sweat oozing over every inch of her body.
She looked up at the ceiling, staring at the unmoving ceiling fan. She didn't feel like getting up and turning it on, she just got situated the way she liked. Closing her eyes, she thought back to the events that have been going on for the past few years.
They graduated high school, and moved into college. Well, that was basically it. But, the deeper memories caused some wounds to reopen. It was a few months, almost a year after their own high school hell experience. Most of them had just came out of rehab, and were practically fine without their medication, and pain killers. The high school in their town was destroyed, due to some damage, and other things. She thought it was more because of the now bad reputation it got. Hundreds of students slaughtered, not exactly the best advertisement. Anyways, it took them two years to catch up on everything they missed, and get back to their average grade level. They managed to graduate a few months late, but still. While it seemed difficult to continue a normal life with such memories, they still wanted to go to college. It took a lot more than a memory to keep them down.
But, for her, life seemed to take a slight better toll. She still suffered from some mental, and emotional problems, but she was doing a lot better now. Her brother Jack was too, for the first few months, he refused to leave her side. She didn't objected with him, for awhile, till she seemed over it, and thought it was better for them to have separate lives. He was still a little content on being around her, well that was until he met Charlotte. She worked as one of the reporters for the local paper, and she was doing a report at the local auto shop, where he worked part-time. That's how the two met. They hit it off almost instantly, and met with each other more and more often. By their sixth meeting, they too became more serious, and went out to movies together, or out to dinner. Charlotte respected their close relationship to one another, and offered to let them have some time together. But, she always reclined, and joked she's spent eighteen years with this man, she didn't need to spent anymore time. Besides, she was busy herself, and rather not have Jack be left by himself either.
Either way, here she was. At Kinney University, hoping to get some kind of degree in whatever she could think of. Whatever it would be, she had two years to think about it.
A sudden loud noise startled her, and caused her to roll off the side of the couch.
