Never very close
they're even farther apart now
She looks at him
tears filling her eyes
He seems so distant
The damage has been done
Words have been yelled
Papers litter the floor
thrown there in anger
Piercing pain with every breath
Screen door broken
They can't change what happened
Things will never be the same
The subject of their fight is so trivial
yet it was so intense
That's the story of their lives
