Hello everybody I’m Nelo Warrior and this just a little idea I had for a manga so I hope that everyone enjoys it. It’s a little weird so I have to put in a prologue, yawn right?

Prologue:

There was once a village hidden deep in a forest next to the ocean. The people who lived there had the strange ability to change in to animals; they were called metamorphs. The metamorphs lived together peacefully away from the rest of the world. But one day a man discovered the village and burned it to the ground, many died. Those who were left were forced to leave the forest and now must live among regular people.

Chapter one: The Kaitowa Brothers

It was just an ordinary day in Tokyo for two brothers living on the street. Sixteen-year-old blond haired Kitsune sat behind a cardboard box with his eight-year-old brown haired brother Yuichi next to him.

“Alright! Don’t blink or you’ll miss it! GO!” Kitsune said to the man in front of him as he began to shuffle the three cups on the box, “Ok, where’s the rock?”

The man thought for a minute nervous while his companions behind him shouted out which cup they thought it was. “Uh the middle one.” He says pointing to the plastic cup

Kitsune lifts the right cup to reveal a small rock with a grin and says cockily, “Oh sorry you lost!”

Yuichi looks at his brother and says nervously, “Ok brother I think we should stop now, please.”

“Hang on Yui just a few more. Okay whose next c’mon people pick the right cup and take the pot, it’s not the hard!” Kitsune said like an auctioneer

One of the other men walked up and said, “Hey wait a second!” He grabbed the other two cups revealing rocks underneath both of them. He growled angrily and yelled out, “These punks are hustling us! Let’s get em!”

“RUN YUI!!!” Kitsune yelled out as he grabbed his younger brother and all the money then began to sprint down the alley. With several angry men hot on their heels. The two brothers were able to gain some distance then turned a corner. When their pursuers turned the same corner the brothers were nowhere to be found.

“They got away!” One of the men yelled out angrily

A couple of blocks away Kitsune and Yui were strolling down the street at ease. “Hehe, talk about easy money, guess it’s a good thing we know a few short cuts around here. So lil bro what’cha want for lunch today? We’ve got enough to get something really good!” Kitsune said

“But Kitsune what we’re doing is wrong we stole that money.” Yui said sadly

“C’mon we didn’t steal. They put down their knowing the game might be rigged. Besides we have to eat; and did you forget that it was a human who burned our village?” Kitsune asked trying to reassure his younger brother.

“How could I forget, that was the night mother and father died.” Yui said sadly looking down

“I know, I miss them too, but don’t you think the way we live now is better than in that orphanage?” Kitsune asked. After their parents had died five years ago they were found wandering around the city and were sent to a local orphanage. They had been afraid one of them would be adopted and they would be separated. Neither of them could bear the idea of losing their last family member so one night Kitsune was able sneak them both out. They had lived on the streets ever since.

Yuichi didn’t answer his brother’s question he just kept walking.

‘Damn it, guess not. Maybe I haven’t been taking very good care of my brother. What am I gonna do?’ Kitsune thought to himself

A man in his early twenties who wore a black suit walked passed the two brothers but then looked back as if to check his vision and called out to them making them stop in their tracks and turn around, “Do my eyes deceive me or is that Kitsune and Yuichi, the Kaitowa brothers?”

Yui asked, “Kitsune who is this man?”

Kitsune paused for a minute the exclaimed, “I remember! You’re Koji, the village elder’s son.”

“That’s right, so where have you two been all this time?” Koji asked

“Long story.” Kitsune said

“Really, how about you guys come to my home for lunch and we’ll talk.” Koji offered

“Yeah!” The brothers exclaimed together

Koji led them to a large boarding house and once inside brought them two bowels of rice, which were soon gone. They then told Koji about what they had been doing.

“I see, Yui can I talk to your brother alone for a little while?” Koji asked

“Ok.” Said Yui as he went in to the next room

“What’s going on Koji?” Kitsune asked

“Well as you can see this is a boarding house.” Koji said

“Yeah.” Kitsune replied

“What I didn’t tell you is that it’s a boarding house opened only for metamorphs from our village.” Koji told him

“Really!” Kitsune exclaimed

“That’s right, my father and I bought this boarding house for the villagers who have nowhere to go and I want you two to live here.” Koji said smugly

“Wow I don’t know what to say, you’re not anything like the leech I remember.” Kitsune commented

“I live to serve, in fact I’m learning to be a high school principle. As principle I will make all the girls where tight blouses and little miniskirts!” Koji exclaimed like he was some honorable hero.

A sweat drop formed on Kitsune’s head as he thought, ‘Not only is he a leech, he’s a pedophile!’

“Now why don’t you go tell Yui the good news.” Koji suggested

“Yeah, alright.” Kitsune said and left the room

Koji smirked evilly, picked up the phone, and dialed, ‘school should be letting out about now’ He thought as he looked at the clock

A few blocks away the high school’s bells rang and all the students were walking outside. A first year with short purple hair walked through the crowed when her cell phone rang. She reached in to her backpack and pulled it out.

“Hello” the girl said

“Hey Hinata.” Koji said

“Oh, hi Koji-sama I’m walking home right now.” Hinata said

“That’s good ‘cause there’s someone here I bet you’re dying to see again.” Koji said slyly

“Really? Who?” Hinata asked calmly

“Kitsune and Yuichi Kaitowa.” Koji told her

Hinata’s eyes lit up as she gasped, “Ki-Kitsune? Kitsune-kun is at the boarding house?”

“Hehe that’s right, I’m trying to convince them to stay but they’re being quite stubborn. But I’m sure if Kitsune saw you it would sway him in an instant.” Koji said trying not to burst out laughing

“Y-you think so?” Hinata asked blushing

“Sure, Kitsune was just saying how much he’s been missing you all this time.” Koji told her. Koji had known about Hinata’s secret crush on Kitsune for quite some time, ever since ‘accidentally’ read her diary. Hinata however had never been aware of this.

“Ok! I’ll be home right away!” Hinata said happily as she turned off the phone and ran towards the boarding house.

“Hey, who was on the phone?” Kitsune asked as he re-entered the room followed by his little brother

“Huh? Oh nobody.” Koji said smiling and thought, ‘This is gonna be so great!’

“Hey Kitsune, what kind of animal does Koji turn in to? And what’s his animal trigger?” Yui asked. Animal trigger was the movement or action someone had to do to a metamorph to cause them to change in to their animal form.

“Why do you ask Yui?” Kitsune asked. They all suddenly heard the door front open and the redheaded girl ran in to meet them

“Kitsune-kun!” Hinata exclaimed happily while the two brothers sat there confused

“Oh, I remember her! That’s Hinata, we.” Yuichi started but then stopped when he saw Hinata run up to his older brother and wrap her arms around him

“Kitsune-kun! I’ve missed you so much! Please don’t go, stay with us here!” Hinata exclaimed as she held tightly around Kitsune’s neck, unintentionally choking him.

“I was gonna say, that’s Hinata. Who we used to play with when we were little.” Yui said, finishing his sentence

“Hinata, what do you mean don’t go? I want to stay. Wait, how did you even know I was here?” He asked her

Hinata let go of him to look him in the face. She explained, “Koji-sama called me and said he was trying to get you to stay but you wouldn’t listen. He thought if you knew I was here you’d change your mind. By the way.” She paused and said blushing, “I feel the same way.”

Kitsune was completely confused at first but was beginning to understand. However he lost his train of thought when he heard Hinata ask, “Kitsune-kun, do you mind if uh you know.”

Kitsune didn’t understand what she meant until he noticed she was staring at his pinky, “No Hinata, wait!”

It was too late, Hinata grabbed Kitsune’s pinky and pulled it. A poof of smoke came from Kitsune. When it cleared Kitsune had was a foot tall with fox ears and four golden foxtails with white tips. Kitsune wasn’t a normal metamorph. He didn’t completely change in to an animal, he never knew why though.

“Awww, I forgot how cute you got in your fox form Kitsune!” Hinata cooed as she picked him up and hugged him to her chest.

‘Even though I being squeezed to death again, this time it isn’t so bad….what the hell am I thinking!” Kitsune thought then his mind went to where it’d been before. He looked over at Koji who at a look of complete bliss. He tried to free himself from Hinata’s grasp by pushing against her with his little hands. However they simply sunk in to her.

Hinata gasped and blushed when she felt Kitsune’s hands and accidentally let him go. Kitsune looked up at her and said, “I’m so sorry Hinata! I didn’t mean to touch you like that!” Kitsune exclaimed hoping she wouldn’t be too mad. Yui looked on confused while Koji rolled over with laughter.

“Oh uh, I-It’s alright.” Hinata said blushing with a small smile

Kitsune looked over at the hysterical Koji angry and asked, “Hey! What exactly did you tell her?”. Koji just kept laughing. Kitsune smirked as he looked over at his brother and asked, “Yui, do you still want to know what Koji’s animal trigger is?”

“Sure” Yui said

“What!” Koji exclaimed, “Don’t you dare Kitsune!” exclaimed as he watched Kitsune walk towards him. In a split second Kitsune jumped up and kicked Koji in the groin. There was another poof of smoke and Koji changed in to a crab.

“Wow! You kick Koji in between the legs and he changes in to a crab, cool!” Yui said

“OUCH! That really hurt you punk!” Koji said

“That’s what you get for whatever you said to Hinata!” Kitsune said, still in fox form.

“That’s enough you two!” Said an old man’s voice from the staircase. Everyone looked up silently as the gray haired village elder walked in to the room from the second floor.

That;s all for the first chapter, in the next chapter I’m going to introduce a few more characters and I’ll show what animals some of the other characters turn in to, like Yui. I hope everyone liked this, constructive criticism is always welcome.
