Hey everyone, I'v got an update today but sad to say it's quite short but this is an idea I have if I make shorter chapters i can update faster.

Kitsune looked around him in shock, everything was on fire and the villagers were running around in a panic.

“Big brother! What’s going on?” Yuichi said frightened behind him

“I….I don’t know Yui.” That was all Kitsune could say, he was still in disbelief.

A large golden fox with four long tails leapt in front of the two and said in a strong voice, “Kitsune, take your baby brother and run!”

“What in the world is going on?” Kitsune asked in distress

“A human has set fire to the village and is now attacking everyone! Now go!” The fox said

“Go? Where are we supposed to go?” Kitsune asked the fox

“It doesn’t matter just take your brother and get out of this forest NOW! I WON’T SAY IT AGAIN!!!” The fox ordered and ran off in to the inferno

Kitsune nodded grabbing his little brother by the hand and running off in to the forest.

Kitsune’s eyes shot open holding his breath, but sighed as he realized he was still in his and Yui’s room in the boarding house. He looked over at the futon next to his; Yui was sprawled out sleeping peacefully. Kitsune laid back down attempting to go back to sleep but only tossed and turned. After a while of this Kitsune stood up and walked out in to the hallway.

Kitsune began to think about the other new residents of the boarding house. First there was Rini, she said they had met before he really couldn’t remember her. Kitsune thought Hinata had seemed kind of upset seeing Rini show up with his brother and him but he couldn’t figure out why. Then there were the three other girls who had seemed to show up out of the blue; they were Kiki and Tomoyo who were both Kitsune’s age and Suki who was as old as Yui.

Kiki had golden blond hair like Kitsune except her was much longer, Tomoyo had long dark hair, and Suki had medium length brown hair. Kitsune had never met them and didn’t get much of a chance to get to know them since they had spent the entire night with the elder and Koji talking about living arrangements.

Kitsune wandered through the house eventually coming in to the living area, surprised to see the village elder sitting at the table.

“I’m surprised to see you awake at this time of night Kitsune.” The old man said

“I couldn’t sleep.” Kitsune said

“Ah, well have a seat” The elder said as he poured to cups of green tea, “I find when I can’t sleep that green tea is good remedy.”

Kitsune sat down at the table across from the elder; taking a sip he said, “Thanks.”

“So what is troubling you?” The village elder asked

“I’ve dreaming of the night the village was burned down.” Kitsune said grimly

You as well, I would’ve never guessed.” The elder said surprised

“You mean that’s why you’re up too?” Kitsune asked

“Oh yes, many nights I’m robbed of much needed sleep remembering that night.” The elder said

“I don’t understand why someone would just come to our home an destroy it, we never did anything to the humans, why couldn’t he just leave us alone?” Kitsune asked

The elder listened for a moment then said, “Think of it from the human’s point of view. Deep in a forest he comes across a village full of what seem to be ordinary people, until he sees them turn in to animals. To someone who didn’t know better it could have seemed as if we were demons or evil spirits.”

“It doesn’t matter, he attacked us in the night while everyone was asleep and drove us out of our home.” Kitsune said then paused before saying, “That night, father seemed so strange.”

“Strange? How?” the elder asked curiously

“I never did anything right in his eyes; I don’t think he trusted me. So how could he trust me with taking care of Yui? He knew I’d screw up.” Kitsune said bushing a few strands of his blond hair to the side.

“What are you talking about? I knew you’re father well and I can assure you that is far from the truth. Your father always used tell everyone how amazing both of his sons were.” The elder said smiling

“Really?” Kitsune asked in disbelief

“It’s true, he’d always say things like how kind and thoughtful Yui was and how everyday Kitsune was becoming more cunning and determined. He also would say how much you watched out for your little brother, which is why he trusted you with Yuichi. He knew you would keep you both safe. You see, your father was very proud of you both.” The elder said

“Thank you elder.” Kitsune said sincerely
