voyeurism

they/he/she/it
- watching me
(& every gesture
must seem imperfect on my hand)
- how could such
nonjudgmental eyes
hurt so much?
(& though his gaze follows me
the line of his mouth has never softened)

whereas i think she is pleased with it,
soul sister
soul MARIA
- my faith derived from our disbelief
but hurting her never before
tasted so sweet

&oh! that my revenge should seem justified!

meddling & prying
behind cream silk sheets
(this must qualify as voyeurism)
with no eyelids to blink shut

& down to the fingernail
i was born
ruined.
