Will you be there when I get there
waiting at the door?
Will you peek between the curtains
thirty seconds after four?
Or are you even home, love?
What are you thin-king of?

Can you tell me that I will not
scrape my knees
Skating hard through the
summer breeze
Because I need to meet you
Because I've never seen you
(and I hear you're a very nice person)

I can tell you that I'll hug you
Tell you when I'm thinking of you
And write you letters every day with
each one saying
"Hi. I love you."

Can you promise me you'll be there
With your sun kissed chocolate brown
hair
Twinkling playful eyes
And I'll take off my disguise
So that there are no more lies
And I am finally free
To be silly quirky me
Because you'll take care of
me.

I don't know when I'll get there
Yes unknown waiting is so unfair
But I promise yes I swear
That I will soon soon be there
Please wait a couple seconds more
I hope you think that I'm worth
waiting for.
