Sensibly Nonsensical
Shorts by TeriLK

0000 - A Guide

You've stumbled upon my 'sensible, but nonsensical' rantings. In this 'story' you will find a series of shorts about pieces inspired by those random thoughts that occur in our heads, or at least ones from personal experience. Most will be fairly short, and not much more than hints, but I hope that they inspire you. If you won't give the entire archive a chance, here are snippets of what you will be reading: (#### the month/year written) - (Title) (Chapter #)

0606 - Dreams (02)
"Have you ever had that dream? The one where you're underwater and you see a light that must be the surface but no matter how hard you swim... you never get any closer..."

0706 - Trapped (03)
"I'm trapped in my mind and I cannot fathom colour, sound, taste, smell. What is the difference between a green blade of grass and the fluffy whipped cream that clouds must be made of..."

0806 - News (04)
"The moment our language allows us to express ourselves┘ the moment is gone..."

0806 - Ignorance (05)
"When do we cross the line between what is truly ignorant and whether or not such ignorance can possibly be bliss..."

0806 - Alone (06)
"What does it mean to be lonely..."

0905 - Expectations (07)
"Maybe it is our brain capacity that makes us the most dominant species in the world. But I also find it to be our fault..."

0806 - Pictures (08)
"It is like an artist sitting in front of a mirror and trying to capture themselves in a portrait exactly┘ satisfying the resemblance to everyone but themselves..."

0105 - Meh (09)
"So stop dumping these external things so dangerously close to our protective bubbles┘ we've obviously got more important things to worry about. In fact, I definitely have to get some new batteries for my clock, before my life loses all purpose..."

0806 - Facticity (10)
"Do you dare imagine something beyond our understanding?"

1006 - (Like) 12:01 AM (11)
"Sometimes I'm 11:59, more often than not I'm the 12:00. But I always get stuck at 12:01... and I'm so fucking sick of it."

0109 - Sun (12)
""It should not be denied that being footloose has always exhilarated us. It is associated in our minds with escape from history and oppression and law and irksome obligations. Absolute freedom. And the road has always led west." (Chris McCandless, Into the Wild)

1208 - Serendipity (13)
"...and yet when our rationality completes and consumes us, can we then only be liberated by the serendpity that starts the process all over again?"

0406 - Hobbes (14)
"The brain is an organ or a physical representation of the mind; the psyche is the emotional/psychological representation of the mind."

0807 - Words, words, words (15)
"What do you do with the time you are given? I suppose that's what I'm asking-- what do You do? Because I don't know what I'm doing. And I guess like everything else in my life I need confirmation as to whether or not that makes me crazy or just like everything else."

0206 - Finite (16)
"Our lives will always fluctuate between the long-term and short-term decisions we encounter."

I will do my best to respond to any reviews/comments/questions in the installment following the date submitted. Thanks.
