Her eyes danced across the computer screen

In furious expectation.

What kept her there,

What kept her in tune

As the story unfolded, I don’t know.

As an author we have the ability

To captivate,

The power to move the heart and mind,

To motivate.

To make someone think.

Words on a page,

Or on a monitor

Can inspire, can make someone mad.

Can make the human soul want to dance.

This writing gift should not be taken for granted.

And yet I wonder if someday,

I decide to stop writing,

If only for a brief while,

When I go back to it, will I still know how?

Like riding a bike, once you learn

You can’t forget.

So let the pen flow,

Let the fingers dance their

Soulful rhythm across those plastic keys.

Let the story flow.

Let the audience read.

How much power you really have.
