Ice and Fire

Prologue

Darkness consumed the city of Doriss as Kaldon made his way on the roof of the Flame palace. Spires with red tiling and red, brick walls made up the castle. As Kaldon approached his destination, soft breathing was heard from the window of Princess Amerina’s room.

The nursery, a bright pink with red trimming and carpet, accepted the invader. Kaldon walked softly toward Amerina’s crib and picked her up. Amerina started to cry as he ran out through the window.

Once in the safety of Acucar, Kaldon put the princess on a servant’s doorstep.
