Up The Hill
By Erinn Streckfuss
"Up the hill, where blood soaked feet tread
I follow the footsteps of the man who gave me bread.
Up the hill, a body is mocked by dangerous foes,
but I still follow the footsteps of the man who gave me clothes.
Up the hill, a person is put through the ultimate test,
even still, I follow the man who, in weary times, gave me tremendous rest.
Up the hill, blood pours from his body leaving him shaken and frail,
but I will still follow the man who rescued me from an everlasting jail.
Up the hill, nails are pushed into a man's wrist and his body is cut and sliced,
But I will forever follow this wounded man who is indeed my Christ."
