If the shoe fits…

Adding to our destruction

Piece by piece

Bit by bit.

-

Claiming it’s for the better

Our society slowly falls

The fuse is lit.

-

Once on it’s path

It won’t be stopped

We’ve fallen into a pit.

-

The country is dust

The city is fake

Sticking out like a zit.

-

We feed the hunger

But let the hungry starve

In overlord chairs we sit

-

We pull the wants

And push the shoulds

We just can’t quit.

-

Creativity is lost

Everything is repeated

We have no wit.

-

Disdaining modesty

We shroud ourselves in desire

We wear it like a mitt.

-

Scapegoats put to stage light

Responsibility from the past

Wonder when the bomb will hit.

-

We look the other way, not seeing it happen

We don’t believe it works for us

But if the shoe doth fit…

I'm not really sure where this poem came from. But please review anyway, if only to tell me you disliked it (at least tell me why though). I'd love to hear from you!
