My Beautiful One

I’m growing up

And I’m growing into someone less

Someone out there must want to save me

I need to find a replacement for who I’ve become

The light of lilac warms my body

So pale, beautiful blue veins against white skin

I’m bare and stripped as you believe of everything

Fluorescent, I glow before your eyes

Take deep breaths, I’ll hold your heart as it skips

Drowning slowly, open your mouth

Choke on salt and wait for anything to happen

Is anyone going to come?

I’m going to let these tears fall now

And all that’s left is nothing

Pure, pure in the void

Grey and purple and gone…

No one tries to make sense of me

So I’ll sit here staring at this rose

Drag the thorns down my body

Purge me of sins, you drink them greedily

My demon, my demon of words

Save me, condemn me, ignore me

Run your fingers down my skin

And whisper in my ear, “It’s going to end now. It’s been fun.”
