Finding Lost Words

I see these people and my stomach turns to butterflies,

My tongue becomes dry.

I look at my feet,

As we stand in the silence.

I open my mouth,

But nothing comes out.

In my mind,

I want to go away.

Finally they turn and go,

Making little noise in the silence.

And they leave me there,

Alone and cold.
