I haven’t been myself

Twisted, confused and down

For what it’s worth it never was you

You held me when I cried

Asked no pushy questions

You accepted and let it be

But I see the hurt that time has caused

I never meant to wear on you

You are my refuge

From a hard and aching time

Couldn’t be further from the truth

You’re my confidant

My safest place to hide

I don’t want to burden you with it all

But you know far too well now

When all went wrong

You were the only thing right

I’ve never been one to deal

Well with stress and demands

Soon time won’t be so tight

Things will slowly seep away

Things will be simple again

With your love I find my sanity
