Countless times we hath
request
That God our home do bless
Yet is it us, that needs
this gift?
Or are there are others,
that harder lives live?
Do we who carry this
request as a mere banner
Deserve it more than those
who suffer in a manner
That surely even the devil
himself
Would not upon wish
someone else?
We ask the one True God
above
But ask we Him for His
love?
Or has it become merely a
mindless cry?
Spoke without thought
given by the mind?
Or are there those who
more the blessing need?
Does our receiving of it
take away from these?
Have we the right to ask
for it?
If it takes from them,
"not" I think
Perhaps not to us we ought
to ask the blessing to fall
Mayhaps bless those who
need it, we ought to call
For in truth, we sit at
comfort in our homes
Far from the skies filled
with wails of woes
And so therefore, I ask
Thee, Lord,
If the blessing doth take
away
Then bestow it upon them,
and not we
For 'tis not we who need
it, but they
