Preservation
By: Danny Dodger
A bronzed hand covers my heart
Acts of iniquity embrace me
My mortal corpse longs for flavor
A taste of blissful agony
This hallow carcass of flesh morns
As my last thread of innocence is severed
The thought of living a felicitous life
Was torn away the moment divinity touched me
This body use is not for religious conviction
A masquerade of purity on fraudulent faces
Truth veiled by devious mysteries
Locked away in a room of tainted secrets
For every ghastly lock there is a glorious key
Give a free rein to pandemonium’s gift
Let reality pour down on this cadaver
Cleanse the holy waste away
The spark the sets the flame
A single voice of pariah
My life’s purpose
Preserved
